The study of Nutrition fascinates me! I am always seeking conferences to attend, literature to read and webinars to listen in on to whet my appetite for nutrition related knowledge. It's no wonder that I am a Registered Dietitian. As an extension of my passion for the field of dietetics, I decided to create this blog to hopefully impart useful information to anyone interested or involved in the field of dietetics.
It was sometime after I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rutgers University that I became interested in the correlation between good nutrition and health. My interest led me back to Rutgers University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with an emphasis in Dietetics. From there I applied and was accepted into the competetive College of Saint Elizabeth Dietetic Internship program. Upon completion of my educational requirements I sat for and successfully passed the national registration exam for dietitians.
I currently work as a Clinical Dietitian and have professional memberships to several organizations. Additionally, I am an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), and the American Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutriton (ASPEN). In addition to my RD credentials, I am also a credentialed Clinical Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) and a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO).
By the way, this site is for educational purposes only. If you would like to make changes to your diet, I suggest consulting with your MD and Registered Dietitian before proceeding.
Hope you enjoy the site!!
